Pro tip: I thought mixing wool and silk in a jacket was a bad idea until my sample came back.

Made a sample blazer with 70% merino wool and 30% silk for a client in Chicago, expecting it to be too delicate. The fabric house nailed the weave and it's got this amazing drape without losing structure. Anyone else had a fabric combo they doubted that actually worked?

Ever try mixing linen with a tiny bit of polyester? I was sure it would feel cheap, but it actually cuts down on the wrinkling a ton. Sometimes the weird blends really do work out.

Guess @brookes37 and I both need to stop doubting fabric houses, huh?

Yo that linen/polyester thing is REAL. I did a summer suit last year with 55/45 and was sure it would feel like a raincoat. But it's actually softer than pure linen after a couple washes and the creasing is way less aggressive. The poly helps the linen hold its shape without getting that crushed paper bag look by noon.
