Just lost $200 on a fabric order from a place called 'Silk Road Surplus'.
The swatch looked great, but the full yardage was a totally different weight and color. They won't do returns on cut fabric, so I'm stuck with it. Has anyone else had this happen with online fabric stores? Need a better source for silk blends.

That's so frustrating, especially with silk being so pricey. Rowan593 is right about Fabric Hut pulling the same thing. It feels like some sites use perfect lighting on a tiny swatch to hide the real fabric. I got burned on a linen blend that looked heavy but was practically see-through in person. Now I only buy from a couple of places that send free swatches first.

My last order from Fabric Hut was a total bait and switch too.

Laughing at myself for falling for the SAME trap last month. I ordered what looked like a nice heavy cotton twill for a coat and got something that felt and looked like a cheap tablecloth. @jennifer358 you're spot on about the lighting trick - they must have a special "magic lamp" that makes everything look 10x better than it really is. At least now I know to check the return policy BEFORE hitting buy, not after.
