TIL a quiet barn helps horses stand still for shoeing

Was at a new stable with loud machinery running nearby. The mare kept shifting and wouldn't hold still until we moved to a quieter spot. Do you guys think environment matters more than we say?

Actually horses can hear way more than we do, but they're also super sensitive to vibrations through the ground. So it's not just the noise, it's the whole feel of the place. A quiet spot stops all that extra info from freaking them out.

Noise freaks them out. Horses hear everything and get jumpy with loud sounds. A calm space lets them focus on the job. Farriers know this, but some stables forget. It's not just about skill, it's about comfort.

Isn't it wild how some places just don't get the need for quiet? Honestly, I'd be a mess trying to work in a noisy spot, let alone a horse. My own focus goes out the window with too much racket. Farriers have the right idea keeping things chill, because comfort really does make all the difference. Guess we all need a little peace to do our best work, huh?
