Changed my mind on that $300 hoof stand after a tough trim on a draft cross
I thought it was a waste of cash, but it saved my back on a horse that kept leaning. Anyone have a cheaper stand that holds up to big horses?

My old back would have killed me without one last week.

Disagree completely, honestly. That's a huge amount of money for a tool you might use a few times a year. You can get the same support from a cheap bucket or a cinder block (just pad it well). Spending that much feels like fixing a problem with your wallet instead of your technique. A horse leaning is a training issue, not a gear issue, and a fancy stand just lets you avoid dealing with the real problem. Saving your back once doesn't make the price tag any less crazy.
