Tried to fix my leaky sink with either duct tape or a $7 kit from the store.

I chose the duct tape because it was already in my garage, but the whole thing blew apart at 2 AM and flooded my kitchen floor. Has anyone else had a quick fix turn into a total disaster?

Did you at least get the duct tape to stick for a while?

Duct tape is a short term fix at best. What were you even trying to hold together? The real question is why you're using it for something that clearly needs a proper repair.

Wait, you actually went to sleep after duct taping a sink?! Man, that is some serious trust in sticky tape! I'm honestly shocked you didn't at least put a bucket under it before bed. Our bathroom sink had a slow drip last year and I used a $3 rubber washer from the hardware store - that thing held for like a week before I realized I'd cross-threaded the whole pipe and had to call a plumber to fix the mess.
