I was sure my friend's 'freeze your credit card in a block of ice' trick was just silly, but it actually stopped my impulse buys for a full month.
I spent $400 less than usual because the 20-minute thaw time made me rethink every online cart. Anyone else try something they doubted that actually worked?

Okay but what if your impulse buy is ice cream? I tried this and just ended up chipping away at a block of ice like a weirdo for a Klondike bar. It did stop me from buying a new phone case online though, because my hands were too wet and cold to type. I guess the real trick is making the hassle bigger than the want. My freezer is now full of suspicious ice blocks instead of frozen pizza.

Making the hassle bigger than the want" is a good way to put it. I used to just give in, but that ice block story actually makes sense.
