Update: I hit 500 rejections on my short stories and it was the best thing for my writing
That specific number forced me to stop chasing trends and just write what I actually cared about, which finally got me a real acceptance after three years of trying.

Yeah that "real change" rowanc29 mentioned is so true lol. Hitting a wall like that makes you figure out what actually matters to you.
