TIL my 'quick fix' for a leaky faucet cost me way more than calling a plumber

I tried to fix a drip in my kitchen sink myself with a $15 kit from Home Depot, thinking I'd save cash. After three hours and a stripped valve, I had to call a real plumber, who charged $120 to fix my mess. The difference was having the right tools and knowing the exact model of my Moen faucet. Anyone else have a DIY plumbing story that went sideways?

Having the right tools" is so true. I used to think any wrench would do, but now I see how a cheap one can strip a valve fast.
