Just heard a guy at the hardware store say every painting failure is the painter's fault, not the paint.

He was buying a single gallon of a cheap flat white, and I watched him roll it right over a greasy kitchen wall without cleaning it first. The lesson wasn't about blaming materials, it was about skipping the basic prep that guarantees a fail. Has anyone else seen a job go wrong where the cause was painfully obvious from the start?

Bet he blamed the paint when it all slid off too? What was his excuse when you pointed out the grease?

Saw a guy skip primer once, @the_oscar. It was a total mess.
