Honestly that stat doesn't surprise me at all. Saw a blog post once that said most people just run out of things to talk about or realize how much editing work it really is. They buy the fancy mic, record a few episodes about their hobby, and then the grind sets in. Tbh it seems like a lot of folks go in without a real plan, which is a sure way to burn out fast.
