Peeled out $40 on a 'magic' kitchen gadget that just chops onions badly

I bought this fancy spiralizer that was supposed to change my meal prep game, and now it's sitting in the back of a drawer after mangling three onions into mush. Has anyone else fallen for a kitchen tool that was way more hype than help?

No way, three onions? That's brutal. I'd be pissed if a gadget made onion mush instead of actual spirals.
