When a facial went wrong, I discovered a new calming technique

Last week, I used a new exfoliating serum on a client without a full patch test. Her skin got really red and itchy right after the treatment. I felt awful and worried I had messed up her skin for good. So, I looked up soothing ingredients and prepared a custom calming mask with oatmeal and aloe. After applying it, her redness went down in just an hour. Now, she's booking more appointments because she trusts my problem-solving. Who knew a mistake could lead to such a strong client bond?

What ratio of oatmeal to aloe did you use in that mask. I've messed up mixes before, they get too runny or thick. Did you grind the oatmeal first or use it whole. And was the aloe fresh from the plant or store-bought gel.

Well after my "messed up mixes" phase, let's just say I once made a paste so thick I could have grouted tiles with it. I use about two big spoonfuls of ground oatmeal to one of the fresh aloe goop, but honestly I'm just winging it until it looks less like a crime scene.

Grind it, fresh aloe, and maybe ask @betty_miller for her tile grout recipe.
