Pro tip: keep a backup steamer head gasket in your kit

My facial steamer started leaking water all over my station last Thursday during a back-to-back booking. The plastic head gasket had cracked after about 18 months of daily use. I had to quickly move the client to another room, dry everything off, and finish the treatment without the steam step, which was not ideal. I ordered a replacement part online for $12, but it took 4 days to arrive. Has anyone found a more durable brand for those little gaskets, or is this just a normal wear-and-tear thing we all deal with?

Rowan593's two-spare policy seems smart after that four day shipping delay. Is the cracking mostly from the heat cycles or from taking the head on and off for cleaning? I'm wondering if a different cleaning routine could stretch that 18 month lifespan.

Oh man, that exact thing happened to me last month. My gasket gave out right in the middle of a facial and I had the same mad scramble. I keep two spares in my drawer now because that wait for shipping is brutal. I've tried a few different brands, but they all seem to crack after a year or so of steady use, it's just a weak point in the design.
