Had a client come in with a 'crystal healing' facial burn from a DIY kit
She bought a kit online that promised to 'align her skin's energy' with hot crystals. Ended up with a first-degree burn across her cheeks. It took three calming masks and a lot of aloe to get the redness down. Anyone else seeing more of these at-home gadget injuries lately?

Honestly, that sounds so painful. I've seen people try those at-home laser hair removal things with bad results too. It's scary how easy it is to get hurt by stuff that looks safe online. Tbh, I hope she's doing okay now.

Right? It's wild how these gadgets get pushed as totally safe DIY options. I bought one of those IPL things last year and gave myself a nasty burn on my leg, it looked awful for weeks. The ads make it seem foolproof but the instructions are so vague.

My sister had a bad reaction to a cheap LED mask last year. What finally helped was keeping it simple, just a gentle cleanser and a basic moisturizer with ceramides. She stopped all other products for a full week, which was hard for her, but it let her skin barrier heal. I learned that sometimes the best fix is to do less, not more, after something like that happens.
