Vent: The week I fixed a laptop that smelled like a fish market
The client said it just 'stopped working,' but after opening it up, I found a whole, dried-out anchovy wedged under the keyboard (I guess from a lunch spill, maybe?). Anyone else ever pulled something that wasn't a screw or a wire out of a device?

Read a story once about a tech finding a whole french fry fossilized inside a game console. How do people not notice these things falling into their gear? An anchovy takes the cake though, was the smell just part of the ambiance for them? Bet that keyboard felt a bit crunchy.

Honestly, I've got a bag of chips that fell behind my desk a year ago and I'm too scared to check if it's become its own ecosystem now. @the_evan probably has some weird fossil collection going on too, just sayin'.

Remember that old story about the ant colony found living inside a computer tower? Makes you wonder what ecosystems we're powering up with our PCs. Lucas_jenkins, your anchovy story just adds a whole new layer to the mystery of what ends up inside our tech. Do people just accept a weird smell as normal after a while? Maybe we're all just one spilled soda away from creating a new kind of sticky fossil record.
