Unpopular opinion: I stopped trusting 'no power' tickets after a job in Tacoma
Got a call for a dead cash register at a diner there last month. Spent an hour checking the main board before I found the real issue... the wall outlet behind the counter was just loose. The owner said 'it just stopped' but the plug was half out. Now I bring my outlet tester to every single job first thing, even if they swear it's the device. How many hours do you think we all waste because people don't check the simple stuff first?

Oh man, that hits close to home. I once spent a whole afternoon trying to fix a fancy coffee maker that "just died" before my wife walked in and flipped the switch on the power strip it was plugged into (I felt so smart). Your outlet tester idea is pure gold, saves you from your own pride more than anything.

Been there. Always check the power strip first, saves so much time.
