Just fixed my 100th busted PS5 power supply
Honestly, I never thought I'd hit triple digits on just that one specific part, but my logbook says it's true. It's wild how many of them fail the exact same way, with those tiny capacitors near the main rail. Anyone else notice a pattern with certain console models?

Yeah, that capacitor spot is a real weak point. It reminds me of the old fat PS3 models, the ones that would just eat laser assemblies for breakfast. You'd see the same failure over and over, like clockwork. Makes you wonder if they ever learn from the last generation's mistakes.

Honestly it's like they don't even care. They know it's a weak spot and they just run with it anyway. Saves them a few cents per unit or something. Tbh planned obsolescence feels way too real sometimes. You fix one known flaw and they just make a new one.
