Hot take: Custom connectors on everything are killing repair shops and the planet
I fix electronics, and lately, every device has a unique port that breaks easy. Just had a laptop in here with a charger socket that's not made anymore. The whole machine is trash now over a five-dollar part. My bench is covered in gadgets that could be saved with standard bits. This waste piles up fast, and it's awful for the environment. We should demand common parts like USB-C for all small electronics. But until that happens, we're just creating more junk. It feels like we're fighting a losing battle against planned obsolescence.

People forget they already PAID for that junk design. That weird port cost got baked into the first price tag, so we all get scammed twice.

AGREE with @jamie_clark completely. That JUNK design should never have cost extra in the first place. Companies bake these weird choices into the price and act like it's normal. Then they charge us AGAIN when they fix their own mistake. It's a classic double dip that SCREWS over everyone. We need to CALL this out every time it happens.
