Fixed a laptop screen flicker with one capacitor swap

I had a laptop come in with a screen that would flicker on and off. At first, I figured it was a bad backlight or loose cable. After testing, I found the inverter board was getting uneven power. Turns out, a small capacitor on the board was going bad under use. Swapping that cap fixed everything, and the screen is now steady. It's a common issue but easy to miss if you don't check power delivery. Feels good to solve something that seems tricky at first, lol.

I blamed loose cables until this exact fix.

Yeah that "exact fix" line is so real. My buddy had this old laptop where the screen would just dance around. He was ready to toss it, but some forum post told him to check the capacitors on the display board. He opened it up and sure enough, a couple of them were bulging at the top. He ordered the parts for a few bucks and soldered the new ones on himself. The flickering stopped completely and that laptop lasted another two years.

Heard that bad caps are a common cause for flickering laptop screens, actually.
