My boss insisted on using a 6 foot ladder for a 15 foot ceiling job in Cincinnati.
I brought my own 8 foot fiberglass ladder and finished the run in half the time without having to constantly reposition. He just stood there watching, then mumbled something about 'company policy'. What's the dumbest rule you've had to work around on a site?

Wait, isn't a 6 foot ladder way too short for a 15 foot ceiling? You'd need at least a 12 footer to safely reach that height (the working height is way lower than the actual ladder length). That policy sounds like a huge safety risk, not just an inconvenience. I'd be showing him the OSHA guidelines on that one.

Yeah, had a boss try that once. Printed the OSHA page and left it on his desk. He bought the right ladder by the end of the week.
