I finally got my old Fluke 87V meter working again after it died on me mid-job last Thursday.

Nice! Mine did the same thing a few years back, just needed a new fuse.

It's funny how often the fix is something simple like that. My old dryer made a terrible noise and I was sure it was dead, but it was just a sock stuck in the fan. We're so quick to assume the worst with appliances now.

Wait, a whole week? You were without your 87V for a full week? That's like losing a limb for a tech person. I would have been losing my mind trying to find a replacement charger or battery pack or something. And @verac40, I totally get what you mean about the sock in the dryer thing, but a dead Fluke is a whole different level of panic. I thought these things were supposed to be indestructible or something.
