Got a call back from that hospital job in Springfield after they saw my conduit work on the third floor.

The head engineer told me he'd never seen bends that clean on a retrofit, which is wild because I almost didn't take that gig last month.

Was that the retrofit over at the old Mercy building? I heard a rumor from a supply house guy that the existing pipe in those walls was a total nightmare, like three different systems mashed together over the years. Getting anything to line up clean in that mess would be a real win. That kind of word-of-mouth praise from an engineer is what gets you the next five jobs. Good call taking that gig even when you weren't sure about it.

Yo wait, did the supply house guy actually say what years those systems were from? I'm trying to picture what a mashup of three different eras looks like in the same wall. Like was it old cast iron mixed with copper and then some random PEX someone snaked in there later? That had to be a nightmare for keeping any kind of slope on the drains too.
