Dropped $350 on a Fluke clamp meter and wish I'd done it years ago

Been using a cheap no-name clamp meter from Amazon for the last 2 years and kept getting weird readings on a commercial panel last week. Grabbed a Fluke 323 from the supply house and caught a 15 amp imbalance that was hiding behind a loose neutral. How many of you have been burned by bad gear before you finally bit the bullet?

That loose neutral thing is exactly why I ditched my cheap meter after it showed everything was fine on a 200A service that was definitely not fine lol. Best $300 I ever spent once I realized the cheap one couldn't handle weird loads.

That 200A service story hits home. I used to think a cheap meter was good enough since most houses are pretty standard, but a buddy of mine let me borrow his nicer one to check a weird voltage drop on a job. @parker224, after seeing how it caught a loose lug my cheap one missed entirely, I changed my tune quick. The difference in how they handle those phantom loads is night and day. You ever run into a situation where the cheap meter flat out lied to you?
