My uncle said to never use a 6 inch knife on a 12 foot ceiling, but I did it for years.

He told me that back in 2010, saying a 12 inch knife is the only way to get a flat finish on a big ceiling. I kept using my old 6 inch tool because it felt faster. Last month in a Denver condo, the homeowner pointed out a bunch of ridges under the can lights that I just could not fix. My uncle was right the whole time. What's the biggest knife you guys use for overhead work?

My old boss in Phoenix made us use 14 inch knives for anything over 10 feet.

That sounds like a safety rule I read about somewhere.
