My go-to for dust cleanup now is a wet sponge.
Sanding always left a huge mess. I saw someone use a wet sponge on a job site. Tried it myself last Tuesday. It picks up all the dust without spreading it. Makes the final wipe down so much easier.

Wait, really? I always figured a wet sponge would just smear the dust around and make it gummy. So you're saying it actually grabs it all? What kind of sponge are you using, like a basic kitchen one or something more scrubby? I've got some drywall sanding to do this weekend and the dust cloud is the worst part. Does it leave any film or anything behind after you wipe with it?

Man, it totally works, just wring it out so it's barely damp and it grabs everything, then wipe after with a dry rag.
