Just spent two weeks on a job in Vermont and I'm convinced their way of handling corners is better than what we do here!

Totally get what you mean. Sometimes a whole area gets stuck doing things one way just because that's how it's always been done. We should really look at what makes their method work so well. Might show us some big flaws in our own system we just ignore.

Seriously, my town hall fought for years over zoning just because 'that's how we've always done it.'

Oh man, I saw this with road crews! Our county always patched potholes the same slow way. Then a crew from the next county showed us their method, just a different order of steps and a better roller. It cut the job time in half. Why do we cling to the old way when a simple change fixes so much? Sometimes you just need fresh eyes on a tired problem.
