Had a ceiling seam pop in a finished house in Tempe because we rushed the tape coat.

Read an article that said Arizona's low humidity actually makes the compound dry too fast if you don't let it set right, so that rush job probably never had a chance anyway. A quick mud and tape job will fix it, but you gotta let those layers breathe in this heat or it'll just pop again next summer. Least it's not a slab crack, those are a nightmare to deal with down here.

That's a pretty common drywall issue in Tempe with the temperature swings. I've seen way worse from houses settling on unstable soil over in Chandler. A popped seam is a quick fix with some mud and tape, maybe an hour of work for someone who knows what they're doing. It's not like a foundation crack or a roof leak. Calling it a "finished house" problem seems like a stretch when it's just cosmetic.

Oh man, brown.nathan is right... my old apartment in Mesa had a seam that popped every single summer like clockwork.
