Appreciation post: My mud consistency was a total mess for a year
Started using a 5-gallon bucket and a paddle mixer for 3 minutes instead of my old drill, and the difference on the wall is night and day. Anyone have a favorite brand of mud for taping versus finishing coats?

Saw a pro say hot mud for taping and lightweight for topping works best.

Hot mud for taping? That stuff sets up way too fast for me. I've had way better luck just using the same lightweight all-purpose for everything, less to buy and it sands easy.
