Heard a guy at the dock in Charleston say 'if the pump's not screaming, you're not cleaning' and I think that's bad advice.

Totally agree with @brown.emma, high pressure wrecks gear. I dial it back and let the soap do more work, way fewer blown hoses.

That pump in Charleston is probably running at like 3000 PSI. I mean, you can absolutely clean a boat deck without making the pump sound like it's dying. That's how you blow out seals and end up with a huge repair bill. Maybe it's just me but that advice sounds like a quick way to break your gear.
