Serious question, why does everyone insist on using 0.5mm lead for drafting?
I switched to 0.7mm lead for my site sketches last month after the 0.5mm snapped on me three times during a single revision in Cleveland, and now I actually finish my drawings without rage-quitting - has anyone else dumped the thin stuff for something sturdier?

Honestly, the 0.5mm stuff is designed for desk work in a controlled environment, not for site conditions. Tbh, 0.7mm is the sweet spot for field sketches where you might be pressing down on a clipboard or drawing on something less than a flat surface. Ngl, switching was the best thing I did for my sanity.

Gasped out loud when I read this. Is there really such a difference between 0.5mm and 0.7mm that it could save your sanity?
