My old drafting table lamp died mid-project last night. What's a good replacement under $75?

Oh man, I was just reading about this! A lot of those older drafting lamps have super specific bulbs that are a pain to find now. You might grab a new lamp only to realize it needs some weird size. I'd look for something LED that uses a common bulb size, like a standard A19 base. That way you can just grab a replacement at any store if it burns out again.

Check the lamp's plug before you buy anything... a lot of those old tables have weird two-prong outlets. You might need an adapter or a whole new cord setup, not just a new lamp. Found that out the hard way with an old sewing machine.

I read an article not long ago that mentioned daylight balanced bulbs help reduce eye strain during detailed work. You may want to check the color temperature of whatever lamp you pick. A 5000K LED with a flexible neck would probably serve you well for years.
