I called the new Autodesk cloud markup tool a gimmick until my team in Phoenix used it
We had a rush job for a Phoenix client and the lead drafter there started adding notes directly on the cloud model. I could see them live from my office, no emailing PDFs back and forth. It cut our review time from two days to about four hours on that set of commercial plans. Anyone else tried a cloud markup tool that actually worked for them?

That "no emailing PDFs back and forth" part is the dream. I had a client who would print my estimates, scribble on them in red pen, scan them, and then email me a blurry picture. Took me a week to get them to just type notes in the email. Some people just love making extra steps for themselves.

Right? The blurry scan kills me. I had one guy who would literally take a photo of his monitor with his phone and email that. Like my dude, you are two clicks from just typing it. The extra steps are a lifestyle choice apparently.

And then you have to play detective with their handwriting. Like, is that a seven or a one? A yes or a no? It's wild how much time gets wasted just decoding stuff. I swear some folks are allergic to the "reply" button. They'd rather do a whole craft project than type three lines. Makes you wonder if they enjoy the drama of it all.
