Appreciation post: A client in Boise had me draft a 1950s-style sign for their diner, and it totally threw me.

I used a modern vector program to mimic the old hand-painted look, but the spacing felt wrong until I printed it out and taped it to the wall. Anyone else find that screen work doesn't translate until you see it full-size in the actual space?

You said the screen work doesn't translate until you see it full size, but I've had the opposite happen. I've made layouts on paper that looked perfect, then looked totally off when I finally got them up on the wall. Maybe it's not the screen, but just that final step of seeing it in real space?

Yeah I started doing test prints at 25% scale first and that fixed it for me.
