Hit my 100th document restoration this month and it was a beat up 1950s marriage certificate

Honestly, I wasn't keeping track until I hit 90 and realized I was close. The 100th one was a 1952 marriage certificate that had been folded up in a wallet for decades. I spent 4 hours just slowly rehydrating the paper so it wouldn't crack. The couple's grandson cried when he saw the signatures come back. Has anyone else gotten weirdly emotional over a random milestone like that?

Started crying right along with that grandson just reading this... It's wild how we don't realize we're making memories until way later. That's the thing about the little everyday stuff we do for other people. You're not just fixing paper, you're giving someone back a piece of their family history they thought was gone forever. Makes you wonder how many tiny moments like that slip by without us noticing.

But isn't it better to notice them while they're actually happening?
