Everybody stores their Christmas decorations wrong and it drives me nuts

I helped my sister dig through 4 plastic totes of tangled lights and broken ornaments last weekend, and every single one had the fragile stuff on the bottom under heavy boxes. Why does nobody put fragile items on top and label the dang tote sides instead of just the lid?

Same reason people stack random sized tupperware containers and never match the lids. We all just shove stuff in the space we have and hope for the best, then get mad later when it doesn't work out. It's like we collectively forgot that a little planning upfront saves hours of frustration later lol.

miab16 "collectively forgot that a little planning upfront saves hours of frustration later" is probably the realest thing anyone could say about human nature. But I think the deeper issue is that most people don't even know what to plan for until they're already in the middle of it. It's like trying to decide what to pack for a trip when you don't know the weather or what you'll be doing. You can't save yourself frustration if you don't have a clue what's coming next. So we all just keep shoving things in and hoping the lids fit eventually.
