Built a pegboard wall and almost lost a finger using the wrong clips

I was setting up a pegboard in my garage for tool storage last Saturday and those cheap plastic clips kept popping out and sending my wrenches flying. Switched to metal spring clips from a local hardware spot and everything actually stays put now. Anyone else have a near miss with those flimsy plastic ones?

Caught a socket wrench to the shin because those plastic clips gave out on me. Not fun. I still have a dent in the drywall where it bounced off and hit the wall. Switched to those metal spring clips too and it's night and day difference. Honestly can't believe they even sell those plastic ones, they barely hold a screwdriver let alone anything heavy. Glad you didn't lose a finger, that's a solid lesson to learn the hard way.
