Unpopular opinion: Cutting my own baseboards was a disaster
I always told myself paying a pro $150 to trim out a room was a waste until I watched a YouTube video of a guy trying to miter a corner with a hand saw for 40 minutes. Tried it myself on a closet last Sunday and the gap was so bad I had to fill it with caulk the size of a pencil. Has anyone else switched back to pre-primed pieces from Home Depot just to avoid the headache?

Do you ever watch those YouTube guys and think "I can do that" only to realize they edited out the part where they messed up six boards? I was dead set on saving money too, but after my first attempt left a gap you could park a truck in, I drove straight to Home Depot and grabbed the pre-primed stuff. Now I just use a simple coping saw for the inside corners and it's still ugly but way less ugly than what I did before.

My first attempt at baseboards I ended up with a gap so big my cat tried to squeeze through it, so I feel you @mia592. I swear the YouTube guys have a secret editing skill called "cut to the part where it magically fits.
