My brother pointed out my deck screws were all wrong after a weekend project
He said I was using drywall screws, which can rust and snap under pressure. Has anyone else made this mistake and what type of screws do you actually use for outdoor stuff?

Realized most shortcuts just create more work later. It's the same with skipping steps on any project, not just screws. That extra minute upfront saves an hour of fixing a mess.
