Just realized my $200 paint sprayer was a total game changer
I always thought rolling was fine for my kitchen cabinets, but my buddy lent me his Graco X5 last weekend. I did the whole set in under two hours with a finish I could NEVER get with a brush, and I'm officially converted. Has anyone else had a tool completely change their approach to a common job?

The "pride and stubbornness tax" thing is real, but I think it applies to way more than just painting. It's like how everyone learns the hard way that doing something the "right way" is actually faster than the way they've been doing it for years. I spent a whole weekend hand-sanding a table once because I was convinced my orbital sander would leave swirl marks. Turns out it wouldn't have, I just didn't know what grit to use.

My husband still laughs about the time I spent three days rolling our bedroom. I borrowed a sprayer for the next room and finished it before lunch. He calls it my "pride and stubbornness tax.
