I painted my kitchen cabinets with a $30 sprayer attachment and the difference is crazy

I used a Wagner sprayer from the hardware store on my old bathroom vanity last year. The key for me was taking the doors off and laying them flat in the garage, that way you avoid drips. I spent more time on prep, like cleaning with TSP and sanding everything lightly, than I did on the actual painting. It took three thin coats to get full coverage but it still felt faster than brushing. The smooth finish you get with a sprayer just looks so much more professional, it's totally worth the extra setup time.

Totally agree on the prep work. That's the whole game with a sprayer. Borrowed my neighbor's Wagner once and the finish was great, but yeah, the cleanup felt like it took longer than the actual painting.

My old Wagner Flexio 590. That thing was a beast for big flat surfaces like cabinet doors. The real trick I learned was to mix a little Floetrol into the paint, it stops those little spits and spatters that ruin the finish. I did my whole basement workshop cabinets in one weekend, but you have to move your arm at the exact same speed every pass. Mess that up and you get runs or a weird texture. The cleanup is the worst part, no way around it.
