Shoutout to the guy at the hardware store in Tempe who showed me a trick with a zip tie

I was picking up some stuff for a shelf project and saw him helping another customer fix a loose wire on a power tool. He just took a regular zip tie, looped it through a hole in the housing, and cinched it down to hold the wire in place. I mean, it's so simple but I never thought to use them for cable management inside a tool. What's your go-to quick fix for keeping wires tidy in a project?

Honestly, how do you keep those Velcro ties from getting clogged with sawdust and grime?

Compressed air does the trick for me.

That zip tie trick is a lifesaver. My garage is full of extension cords that get tangled up, so I started using those cheap Velcro cable ties from the dollar store. Just wrap and pull, way easier than fighting with knots.
