Pro tip: check your miter saw blade before starting a big job

Last Tuesday I spent 3 hours cutting baseboard for a 12x14 room in my house outside Denver. Got everything done only to see the cuts were off by about 2 degrees each. Turned out my blade was dull and had a chipped tooth I missed. Anyone else learn the hard way to inspect tools before cutting?

Is it just me or does that kind of thing happen way too often with all kinds of projects? It's like when you're rushing to finish something and skip the simple checks, then pay for it later. I've started doing a quick once-over on everything before I start, not just saws but drills, levels, even the tape measure if I dropped it. Feels annoying in the moment but saves a ton of time and frustration down the road.

Ngl, my buddy did the exact same thing last summer on his kitchen cabinets. He was so mad he just threw the blade in the trash and bought a new one on the spot.
