My kitchen sink drain pipe cracked open at 2 AM last night

I mean, I was just getting a glass of water and suddenly there's water all over the floor under the cabinet. It was the PVC elbow joint, just split right down the side. I had to shut the water off and use a bucket for the rest of the night. Has anyone had to fix one of these themselves, or is it a job for a plumber?

Easy DIY fix with PVC cement.

PVC cement is a temporary band-aid at best.
