Caught my Bosch dishwasher flooding the kitchen floor at 6 AM
Woke up to water seeping under the door Monday morning. Turns out the float switch was stuck because of some gunk built up from the last 3 months. I popped the bottom panel off, cleaned the switch with a toothbrush and vinegar, and it started working perfect again. Has anyone else had this issue with the float getting jammed by debris?

Same thing happened to mine a few months back. Fixed it the exact same way, just a quick clean of the float switch with some vinegar. Kinda wild how such a tiny bit of gunk can cause a whole flood like that.

Sawed the float arm on mine with a little vinegar and water mix too, but I also had to take the whole switch apart to get at some crusty mineral buildup that just wouldn't budge with just a soak. It was so gross, like a little grey sludge layer that had hardened over time. Once I scrubbed it with an old toothbrush and rinsed it good, the mechanism moved like brand new. Haven't had a single false fill since then, and it's been like 8 months now. Honestly, a little maintenance like that goes a long way, saved me from a flooded basement too. Wish I'd known about it sooner, would've saved me a headache.
