Warning: coworking spaces in Bali are not what they seem
I moved to Ubud last month thinking I'd get tons of work done at the fancy coworking spots. Three weeks in I realized most people there are just posting Instagram stories and drinking smoothies. The wifi goes down every afternoon around 2pm for like an hour. I ended up working from my homestay balcony more than anywhere else. If you need reliable internet to hit deadlines, don't count on those places. Has anyone else found a decent spot in Bali with actual stable connection?

Roll up to Dojo in Canggu around 7am and tell me the wifi goes down. I've been there for six months straight and hit every deadline on time. The afternoon slump you're talking about happens at maybe two or three spots that are packed with travelers treating it like a vacation. You gotta pick the right location and time - the early morning crew is all business, no smoothie selfies in sight. Also, grab a local SIM card with a data plan for 50 bucks and you've got backup internet anywhere on the island.

Yeah @the_jason nailed it about grabbing a local SIM - that backup data plan saves your butt when the wifi flakes out. Dojo in Canggu is solid early but even there I'd keep a hotspot ready just in case. Maybe it's just me but Bali's coworking scene is more about finding one reliable spot and sticking with it rather than hopping around.
