Changed my mind about coworking spaces after a month in Medellin
I always thought paying for a coworking spot was a waste when cafes were free. Then I spent a month in Medellin trying to work from different cafes every day. The noise, the spotty wifi, and having to buy something every few hours just to stay added up. I finally caved and got a week pass at a place called Selina. Having a real desk, fast internet, and meeting other nomads changed the game. I got more done in three days there than in two weeks of cafe hopping. The cost was about $80 for the week, which felt steep, but I saved that on coffee and food. Now I look for a good coworking space first thing in a new city. What's the best one you've found for under $100 a month?

My buddy had the same thing happen in Lisbon. He was trying to work from those tiny pastelaria counters, fighting for outlets and dealing with espresso machine noise all day. He finally joined a spot called Second Home for a month. Said the quiet room alone saved his sanity, and he ended up partnering on a project with a guy he met at the printer. Totally worth the cash.

Sounds like a coworking space can really pay off.

Right? Spending all day fighting a Portuguese granny for a power strip just to send emails. Sounds like a nightmare. But hey, quiet room and a business partner at the printer? That's a better return than most crypto investments. Guy probably made back his membership fee ten times over just from that one coffee chat. Wonder if they offer a "don't spill espresso on my laptop" guarantee though.
