Booked a rigid stay and regretted it instantly.

Flexibility is key for nomad life.

Man, that reminds me of the time I booked a whole month in this tiny beach town thinking it would be peaceful. Got there and came down with the worst cold of my life on day two. I was just stuck in this little room listening to the ocean for weeks, it was the most boring sick time ever. Really drilled into me that you never know what's gonna happen, so locking yourself in is a gamble. Now I'd rather pay extra to know I can bounce if a place just isn't working out.

Funny enough, my old habit was always locking in the longest, cheapest stay. It took getting a last minute chance to join friends in Portugal while stuck in a Madrid lease to really shift that. Now a shorter commitment feels like buying options, even if it costs a bit more upfront.
