Spotted a trick at a truck stop in Ohio last week

I was grabbing coffee at a Pilot in Lima and noticed a guy using a rubber mallet to tap his fuel lines while idling to clear air bubbles. Has anyone else tried that on a Cummins or am I just late to the party?

Just do a proper prime on the filter housing instead of whacking stuff with a hammer.
