Rant: That kid at the Jiffy Lube in Boise who showed me a trick with a breaker bar

I was in Boise last month picking up parts and this kid working the counter, maybe 19, saw me struggling with a stuck oil filter on my F-250. He came out and showed me how to use a piece of PVC pipe as a cheater bar on my breaker bar, said he learned it from his grandpa. Has anyone else had some random kid or old timer teach them something so simple that you still use today?

Pretty sure PVC pipe isn't meant for that kind of torque.

@walker.andrew you're probably right, but my 2am engineering degree from YouTube told me otherwise. (I also thought it was a great idea until the whole thing exploded in my face, literally.)
