My battery bank caught fire last night in the garage

Had a cheap lithium battery pack hooked up to a solar panel in Oklahoma City. Came out this morning to find melted plastic and a scorch mark on the concrete floor. Anyone else had a power station fail like this without warning?

Did your friend have it sitting on carpet or something flammable?

One of my friends had one of those electric fireplaces for like two years on a low pile rug and it was totally fine. The manual said 3 feet of clearance on all sides and she kept it more like 18 inches from the wall because of her layout. I mean, I get the concern about safety but sometimes people just need the warmth and the space is what it is. Maybe it's just me but I think a lot of those warnings are for worst case scenarios, not everyday use.

Doesn't it feel like half the warnings in life are just covering their butts? @angelafisher I've noticed that too.
